About our Home saunas

Enjoy the perfect home sauna with our range of indoor sauna kits and sauna cabins. Ideal for home spas, bathrooms and gyms, choose from compact 1–2 person models through to larger 10–12 person saunas. With 40+ years experience, we can help you choose the right indoor home sauna.

Leisurequip can advise, supply and install the right indoor home sauna for your space. If you need a made-to-measure build, we also design and deliver a complete bespoke sauna.

Indoor sauna kits and sauna cabins: sizes, woods and features

Choose from quality sauna woods including cedar, hemlock, thermoaspen, tulipwood and aspen, plus feature options like a salt sauna or a glass front sauna. Many of our modular kits can be custom cut and fitted to your exact dimensions. You can also combine lighter and darker woods to great effect.

Home vs commercial sauna rooms

A home sauna will be typically smaller and used less intensively than a commercial sauna, so domestic cabins can prioritise comfort, layout and finish. Heater output is usually lower at home, but the correct specification depends on cabin size, insulation and glazing. We can also recommend the right sauna heater for your setup.

Furthermore, you generally won’t require heat treated sauna panels. Even if the whole family use the sauna it still won’t be on a par with every day commercial use.

Infrared vs traditional home saunas

Infrared sauna kits are often chosen for a dry, convenient session and quicker warm-up. Traditional saunas deliver classic heat with the option to add humidity by pouring water on the stones, so you can keep it dry or introduce steam as you prefer. Hybrid models combine both approaches in one cabin.

Home sauna installation and support

We supply leading brands including Tylö, Sentiotec and Harvia, and offer planning support and sauna installation services. Many pre-fabricated kits can be assembled by a capable DIYer; bespoke fits may take longer. In any case we can support or complete the installation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need special electrics for an indoor sauna?

Most indoor home saunas in the UK need a dedicated electrical supply that’s correctly sized for the heater type and kW rating. Traditional sauna heaters are commonly hard-wired on their own circuit from your consumer unit, and larger cabins may require a higher-capacity supply. Infrared cabins often plug into a standard socket, but higher-powered models can still need a dedicated circuit.

In most cases you’ll want a qualified UK electrician to check your consumer unit capacity, cable run, isolation method and whether RCD protection is in place.

How much do home saunas cost in the UK?

Costs depend on size (1–12 person), materials, design, glazing and heater type. A typical 1 person sauna can cost as little as £3,000, while a family sized 6 person sauna can cost £6,000 or more. If you share your space and preferred sauna type, we can recommend suitable options at different price points.

Can I install a pre-fabricated sauna kit myself?

Many pre-fabricated kits are DIY-friendly, but larger home saunas, glass fronts and bespoke fits are often best installed professionally to ensure safe electrics and a clean finish.

Which is better: infrared or traditional?

Infrared is typically drier and simpler; traditional gives the classic sauna feel with optional steam.
